Macnica Showcasing the VIPA™ Video over IP Accelerator PCIe Card at IBC 2017 Booth # 2.A20

SOLANA BEACH, California – August 28, 2017 – Macnica, a leader in video over IP transport technologies, today announced it will showcase the VIPA video over IP transport PCIe card and the optional 3G-SDI extender box at IBC 2017 in Amsterdam.

Macnica debuted VIPA card at NAB 2017 show in Las Vegas in this April, and now is showcasing it at IBC targeted at European market with upgraded live demo. VIPA supports all the latest professional live video over IP protocols – SMPTE2022-1/2/5/6/7, SMPTE2110 (TR-03) and Sony NMI, using Macnica’s own intellectual property, up to 4K video modes using light and visually lossless compression. Customers can access this technology in the form of a PCIe Gen3x8 card and make use of a standard PC/server environment to affordably enable professional video transport over IP networks.

VIPA Features:

  • Streams video directly to host memory without the use of an on-board frame buffer and is capable of sub-frame latency.
  • Transports up to 250 independent media channels of video, audio and ancillary data per 10Gbps link – and channels can be configured to any IP protocol, allowing the card to be used in a system that mixes any combination of 3G-SDI, SMPTE2022-6, Sony NMI and SMPTE2110.
  • Ships with a Linux driver, NMOS and Sony LSM compatible APIs, and a full SDK to allow developers to port their applications onto the platform. A Windows driver will be released later this year.
  • Supports four channels of 3G-SDI in full duplex (four Rx channels and four Tx channels) using an optional 3G-SDI Extender box (sold separately by Macnica) to media convert SDI to any IP protocol and vice versa, and to media convert from one IP protocol to another.
  • Macnica is showcasing VIPA live demonstrations at the 2017 IBC Show in Amsterdam, Netherlands at its booth # 2.A20. In addition, the VIPA card will be featured in the IP showcase located in the conference room #E106. Details for the IBC Show can be found at https://show.ibc.org.
