From Image to Insight: Macnica Europe Brings Machine Vision to Life at VISION 2026

Stuttgart, Germany, 18 September 2026. Macnica Europe will showcase the latest developments in machine vision and industrial imaging at VISION 2026, taking place from 6–8 October at Messe Stuttgart. Visitors can meet the Macnica team in Hall 8, Booth D30, where a series of live demonstrations will highlight technologies for next-generation industrial vision applications.

Working alongside technology partners including Sony Semiconductor Solutions, Ambarella, iENSO, Axelera AI, Corning, Lattice Semiconductor and Estigiti, Macnica Europe will demonstrate solutions spanning vision-guided robotics, edge AI object detection, ultra-high-resolution imaging, high-speed sensor-to-FPGA connectivity and adaptive autofocus and exposure.

The demonstrations reflect Macnica’s focus on helping customers move beyond individual components towards integrated, application-ready vision systems, combining access to leading semiconductor and imaging technologies with system architecture, engineering and design expertise.

One of the centrepieces of the booth will be a vision-guided robotic arm that turns camera data into physical action.

Using an iENSO Mako CV75 vision platform, Ambarella N1-655 edge AI processing and Sony IMX678 image sensor technology, the system detects and inspects objects before responding through robotic movement. Design engineering, system integration and assembly of the robotic arm was carried out by Estigiti, an independent design house and member of the Macnica Ecosystem.

For visitors developing automation, robotics or intelligent manufacturing systems, the point is not simply that the robot can see, but that vision, AI and motion can operate as one system.

Other key demos being showcased include:

• 4K HDR Imaging and Real-Time Edge AI Object Detection: A live 4K HDR stream combines the Sony IMX908 with STARVIS 3 technology and the Axelera AI Metis platform for low-latency edge inference in challenging lighting conditions.
• 105 MP Global Shutter Imaging: The Sony IMX937 demonstrates 105 MP global shutter imaging, delivering ultra-high-resolution monochrome capture with sharp detail on moving subjects for inspection, measurement and other demanding machine vision applications.
• High-Speed Sensor-to-FPGA Imaging: A high-speed imaging path connects the Sony IMX901 global shutter sensor to a Lattice Avant FPGA, using Macnica’s Luminous kit and SLVS-EC IP to demonstrate flexible, low-power sensor-to-FPGA integration.
• Automatic Exposure and Autofocus: The Sony IMX900-AMR sensor and a Corning Varioptic C-mount liquid lens demonstrate automatic exposure and autofocus, maintaining clear image capture as lighting, contrast and working distance change.

Alongside the live demonstrations, Macnica’s engineering team will be available throughout VISION 2026 to discuss customer design challenges, from sensor and optics selection through to processing architecture, edge AI and system integration.
