Macnica ME10 Gateway Kit Earns IPMX Product Certification

ME10 Gateway Kit certification validates the SoC's IPMX implementation and gives manufacturers a proven starting point for interoperable AV over IP products

SOLANA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, September 8, 2026 - Macnica today announced that its ME10 Gateway Kit, built around the ME10 System-on-Chip (SoC), has passed IPMX product certification. The certification confirms the Gateway Kit's compliance with the open standards that underpin IPMX and validates the ME10 as an embedded foundation for interoperable AV over IP products.

The ME10 Gateway Kit is a complete, working IPMX gateway built around the ME10 SoC. It gives manufacturers the hardware, firmware and design resources to move from evaluation to commercial production.

The ME10 Gateway Kit certified in both sender and receiver configurations at the IPMX Product Certification Test Event, held in August at the EBU in Geneva. The IPMX certification program is administered by AIMS, with the EBU serving as the independent certification authority. Macnica's MEG1 gateway, also built on the ME10, certified at the same event.

IPMX is a suite of open standards and specifications for transporting and controlling professional media over IP networks. Macnica was one of the key contributors to IPMX and remains active in its development. The ME10 Gateway Kit was designed for IPMX from the ground up, embedding core transport and control functions that manufacturers would otherwise need to develop and validate independently.

Certification is awarded to complete products rather than individual components. The Gateway Kit's certification demonstrates that the ME10's implementation of IPMX operates as intended within a finished hardware design and in accordance with the applicable specifications.

"This certification is a meaningful proof point for both the ME10 Gateway Kit and the ME10 SoC behind it," said Nestor Amaya, VP of Engineering, Macnica Americas. "Manufacturers want to create products that stand apart through their own user experience, control and application design, and not spend a year rebuilding the underlying media transport layer. The ME10 Gateway Kit gives them a working, standards-based starting point, and this successful certification shows how that foundation holds up in a finished, market-ready product."

Because the ME10 Gateway Kit is itself a working gateway, developers can evaluate the full IPMX signal path before beginning product customization. Macnica's engineering team can then help adapt the design for a manufacturer's enclosure, I/O, control architecture and branding, while development and debugging continue on hardware closely aligned with the eventual commercial product. This approach reduces technical risk and shortens the path from initial concept to volume manufacturing.

The ME10 Gateway Kit can be configured as an IPMX sender or receiver and supports HDMI 2.0 video up to 4K60p, JPEG XS compression, sub-frame latency, HDCP 2.3 with HKEP, NMOS IS-04, IS-05 and IS-11 control, embedded and analog audio, and USB connectivity for KVM applications. The endpoint design operates over standard Gigabit Ethernet and can be powered through PoE+, enabling compact products for presentation spaces, control rooms, display networks and other professional AV environments.

"Open standards create their greatest value when manufacturers can turn them into practical, interoperable products without adding unnecessary development time or complexity," Amaya added. "Macnica was an important participant in shaping IPMX, designed the ME10 around those specifications, and built the Gateway Kit to make that expertise accessible. Certifying the Gateway Kit means manufacturers can start from a design that has already been through the process."

Macnica will demonstrate the ME10 SoC and other technologies, including the MEP100 SmartNIC and M2S media streaming kit, in various ST 2110 and IPMX workflows at IBC2026, taking place September 11-14 at the RAI Amsterdam. Macnica is at Stand 7.C07.
